Volunteer Opportunities

People have been volunteering with Family Service Agency since the aftermath of the 1906 Earthquake.  Join a long line of hardworking and committed volunteers by volunteering your time to help families, children, seniors, and disabled people all around San Francisco.  Family Service Agency volunteers improve life for many communities of San Franciscans and learn while doing it. Read about our current opportunities below.

Children, Youth, and Family Volunteer Opportunities

Children, Youth & Family Services

In response to the complex needs of San Francisco’s families, FSA provides comprehensive, culturally competent programs in multiple languages, at multiple locations.  We have opportunities for volunteers to tutor preschool and high school students at two sites in the Mission District.  Become a mentor and teacher for our city’s youth and help make their futures even brighter.

Adult and Senior Volunteer Opportunities

Senior Services

FSA’s programs for seniors provide a range of services city-wide to help older adults “age in place” with dignity and acceptance.  Volunteers who work with seniors and adults are advocates, friends, and help them with day to day tasks that may be difficult due to physical or mental challenges. Advocate for the people who need you most.

Fundraising and Media Opportunities

Senior Services

Our Development Team raises community dollars to serve those most in need of social and mental health services. Volunteers with this team help with mailings, phone-a-thons, event planning, and creation of new media such as videos. Help spread the word about FSA to the larger community.
