Melissa Moore, PhD, Director, Felton Institute

Dr. Moore has been the director of Family Service Agency’s Felton Institute since 2006. The institute is a think-tank and training forum to disseminate the use of Evidence-based and Strengths-based practices throughout the mental health field.

Since heading the institute she has developed and implemented a NIMH-funded training and research Institute dedicated to the implementation and research on dissemination of evidence-based practices in community behavioral health, director of quality assurance for 7 mental health programs, and oversight of agency-wide operations.  Developed and implemented an award winning web-based electronic charting system. Implemented the FSA Way Practice Manual in value and outcome driven delivery of services. Implemented training and curriculum for strength-based care management currently running trainings and coaching in the San Francisco community mental health system.

In addition, she holds the Community Academic Research and Training Alliance (CARTA) Post Doctoral Agency Fellow seat at University of California, San Francisco. Previously, Dr. Moore served as director of the Karuna Training, part of Upaya Ltd. in Bielefeld, Germany. Dr. Moore has a BA in Classical Studies from Stephens College in Columbia, MO, an MA in Contemplative Psychology from Naropa University in Boulder, CO and a Ph.D. in Psychological Anthropology from California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco, CA.
