San Francisco Public Library

Founded in 1889 as Associated Charities, Family Service Agency of San Francisco is the oldest nonsectarian, nonprofit charitable social-services provider in the City and County of San Francisco.  The San Francisco Public Library is now the repository of the agency’s early records such as Adoption Ledgers from the late 1800s and many documents from our founder Kitty Felton.  The preserved materials will be available in the Library Archives in the Spring of 2010, beginning with a public reception
